The references on this page are Bible quotations that are transcribed in the Book of Mormon and contain an anomaly (one word being replaced by another, usually very similar or identical in sound). The anomalies numbered 2 and 3 do not appear in the original edition of the Book of Mormon (1830) but have since appeared. In both cases, there are three converging sources for possible correction: the original edition of the Book of Mormon, the KJV (King James Bible), and the JST (Joseph Smith Translation). The other anomalies (Nos. 1 and 4) appear in the original edition of the Book of Mormon (but not in the French edition of 1852). One case is not mentioned below because the change was made by Joseph Smith himself in both the Book of Mormon and his Bible translation.

■ Commentary: The anomaly appears already in the English edition of 1830 (at the time the reference was 2 Nephi 10) but not in the first French edition (1852) which reproduces Isaiah 14:25 (at the time the reference was 2 Nephi 10:6). On the other hand, this verse of Isaiah 14 is no different in Joseph Smith's translation, which corrected 10 other verses of the same chapter.

■ Commentary: This anomaly does not appear in the 1830 English edition (at the time the reference was 3 Nephi 9) which faithfully quotes Micah 5:11 (Micah 5:12 in the KJV), but it does appear in the 1840 edition. Note that the Joseph Smith Translation made no changes to the book of Micah.
■ Note: Micah 5:11 (Micah 5:10 in KJV) contains "land" in a sentence of the same construction as in Micah 5:12 (Micah 5:11 in KJVJ), which is confusing. The error of 1840 (or as early as the 1837 edition?) may have come from there.

■ Commentary: The 1830 English edition (at the time the reference was 3 Nephi 10) does not contain this anomaly, it faithfully quotes Isaiah 54:17. The change appears from the 1981 edition. Note that this change was not prompted by Joseph Smith's translation of the Bible, since he did not change verse 17 of Isaiah 54, although he did make changes to the same chapter (see verse 10).

■ Commentary: The anomaly appears already in the English edition of 1830 (at the time the reference was 3 Nephi 11); but in his translation of the Bible, Joseph Smith did not change verse 2 of Malachi 4 although he did change verse 6 of the same chapter.
■ Note: The 1852 edition of the Book of Mormon in English says "Sun of Justice," like Malachi (at the time the reference was 3 Nephi 11:6)
■ Recurrences: "Son of Righteousness" also appears in 2 Nephi 26:9 and Ether 9:22, but it is not a quotation from Malachi. As for the phrase "Sun of Righteousness," outside of the Book of Mormon, it is found only in Malachi 4:2.







Les références mentionnées dans cette page sont des citations bibliques dont la retranscription dans le Livre de Mormon contient une anomalie (un mot remplacé par un autre, généralement d'une sonorité très proche ou identique).
